Where to Get Flax
There are two main options for RuneScape gold obtaining flax:
A. Picking Flax
The most common flax field is in Seers’ Village, located south of the bank. Picking flax is free but slower than buying. Each plant takes one click, and you can gather a full inventory in under a minute.
Other flax locations:
Near Tree Gnome Stronghold
Lletya (requires quest access)
Taverley (small patch, less crowded)
If you’re a new member with little gold, picking flax is your best starting point.
B. Buying Flax
If you have money to invest, buy flax directly from the Grand Exchange or other players.
Buying saves time and allows you to focus on spinning, which increases your hourly profit rate. As of recent prices, flax often costs around 3–6 gp each, while bowstrings can sell for 150–200 gp — meaning high margins.
4. Where to Spin Flax
There are several spinning wheels in OSRS, but the Lletya spinning wheel (requires partial completion of Mourning’s End Part I) is the fastest. Since this is locked behind a quest, many early-game players use:
Seers’ Village Spinning Wheel
Location: Just south of Seers’ Village bank.
Why it’s great: Bank and wheel are very close, making for fast trips.
Average round trip: ~20 seconds.
Other Spinning Wheel Locations
Lumbridge Castle (slower banking)
Falador (slower than Seers’)
Crafting Guild (requires 40 Crafting + brown apron)
If you’re starting out, Seers’ Village is the best location for cheap RS gold both picking and spinning without extra quest requirements.
