Pickup Location: Beth in Borderlands 4 Boosting Lakeside Properties, Fades District, Dominion

Rewards: XP, Borderlands 4 Money, and an Uncommon or Epic shield

Step 1: Head to the Sorting Station

Your first objective is the sorting station, located directly south of Beth's position. Use your map to track it, following the walkways across the water. Along the way, you'll pass a safe house called Sumpview Falls. It's worth clearing this out-it not only unlocks a fast travel point back to Beth, but also nets you an easy 40 SDU points.

Keep moving forward until you reach the Locust Production Facility. At the front, you'll find a control panel. Press the button to summon the elevator, but it won't work right away. The lift is stuck.

Use your grapple to pull the lift down so it's low enough to climb. From there, jump up to the grapple point above and hoist yourself to the facility's entrance. You'll now be staring at a bio-armored door, a barrier you can't open yet. Beth will suggest finding the gas storage room to bypass it.

Step 2: Enter the Storage Room

Turn left and follow the path until you see a large vent shaft door high on the wall. Grapple it off, then climb inside the shaft. Crawl through until you reach the gas storage room.

Inside, you'll be swarmed by Order enemies. Clear the room before proceeding.

Once the area is secure, Beth instructs you to restart the engine by pulling two levers-but both are out of easy reach.

Start by jumping to the roof of the control room.

On the right side, use a grapple point to pull a lift closer.

Ride the lift to the first ledge and pull the lever.

Return to the roof, then reposition the lift to the opposite side.

Jump across again to reach the second lever and activate it.

With both levers pulled, return to the roof and interact with the nearby control panel to restart the engine. Beth will confirm that you can now break through the bio-armored door back at the facility entrance.

Step 3: Break Through the Bio-Armored Door

Head back to the blocked entrance. On the right, you'll see a dispenser filled with locust canisters, the same type used earlier in other missions. Grab one and toss it at the door. The blast will shred its protective armor, leaving it wide open.

Inside, a squad of Order security will immediately attack. Eliminate them, then proceed through the bulkhead door to enter the command center.

Step 4: Hack the Force Fields

The command center is crawling with enemies, so prepare for another firefight. Once cleared, you'll see two large gold force fields at the back of the room. Beth directs you to hack the consoles near them.

Start the hack and fend off incoming waves of Order reinforcements while Echo-4 works. Once both force fields drop, a bio-armored defender appears as the final challenge.

This enemy is heavily shielded, and regular weapons won't hurt it when its armor is active. Instead, grab locust canisters from the dispensers around the room and throw them at the defender whenever its armor regenerates. Once exposed, unload your firepower until it goes down.

Step 5: Hit the Button

With the defender defeated, move into the final room and interact with the control panel. This will reroute the stored gas into Dominion City, completing Beth's plan.

As a result, locust gas canisters will now be available throughout different districts, giving you another environmental tool to turn against enemies in future fights.

Mission Rewards

Finishing One Gassy Issue will net you:

XP for leveling

Cash for your vault

An Uncommon or Epic shield

Additionally, check your inventory after completion-an extra reward chest containing a shield will appear.

What's Next: One Slimy Issue

Beth isn't finished yet. After completing One Gassy Issue, she'll offer you a follow-up quest called One Slimy Issue. You can either fast-travel back to her via Sumpview Falls or hoof it on foot. This next mission continues her crusade against the Order with yet another bizarre plan, so if you enjoyed this quest's mix of combat, puzzle-solving, and environmental mechanics, you'll definitely want to stick around for part two.

Final Thoughts

One Gassy Issue is a perfect example of what makes Borderlands 4 side missions memorable: outrageous characters, over-the-top scenarios, and creative combat mechanics. From grappling through vents to hauling gas canisters at armored defenders, the quest blends exploration and firefights in classic Borderlands fashion.

With solid rewards and the added bonus of unlocking locust gas canisters across Dominion City, this mission is absolutely worth completing. Having plenty of cheap Borderlands 4 Money will help you win rewards quickly.
