Horror enthusiasts can get excited as Phasmophobia's 2025 roadmap has been revealed, offering a wealth of updates for the Xbox Series X|S in the upcoming months, extending into 2026. Though the game is still in early access, players can already start working on Phasmophobia achievements as they experience these new updates.
Despite Phasmophobia not having a full release just yet, Kinetic Games has big plans for the multiplayer horror title through 2025 and 2026. According to the recently released roadmap, several map overhauls and character model reworks are on the horizon. Additionally, a new Sound Recorder and Journal will be featured in the game's next update. Players can also look forward to seasonal events celebrating Easter, Halloween, and the winter holidays.
The first major update, titled Chronicle, will focus on revamping how photo and video evidence are collected during investigations. These findings will be stored in a new Media tab, along with recordings made using the newly introduced Sound Recorder. While there isn't an exact release date for Chronicle, Kinetic Games promises that it will include a number of extra features. Following Chronicle, a Player Character Overhaul update will bring improvements to your Ghost Hunter. Expect updated character models, enhanced animations, and, though not yet available, a future update with customization options scheduled for 2026.
In terms of maps, players can look forward to a brand-new map, which Kinetic describes as similar to the houses, marking the first of several smaller maps that will be introduced over time. The Bleasedale Farmhouse map will also receive a fresh update in March, with visual improvements, layout adjustments, and new props. Later in 2025, the Grafton Farmhouse and 6 Tanglewood Drive maps will also get overhauls.
“These reworks are focused on aligning the maps with our complete vision for them,” Kinetic Games explains. “Expect to see full artistic overhauls, new assets, animations, and high-quality visual detail, along with a few layout changes. While the maps will still feel familiar to players, they’ll have a fresh new look.” Moving into 2026, more map reworks and new additions will be introduced, with players encouraged to stay tuned for further details.
Seasonal events will make a return in 2025, starting with a new twist on the Easter event. The Halloween and Winter events will also return with their traditional themes, so players can once again face off against the Blood Mood cult and confront Krampus.
